Nobody Knows Children Better Than Their Parents

I found this article last week. It's from 2005, but I missed it when it first came out.

Apparently, Detachment Parenting may not be such a good idea after all. So says its leading spokesmouth, Dr. Richard Ferber.

It's articles like this one that reinforce my belief in a general rule of thumb when it comes to child care:

Trust Don't trust the experts.

I think the bottom line is that every kid is different. We didn't do the Ferber method per se, but we did let her cry for a bit and she usually fell asleep within five minutes. If not we went in there. She's always been a pretty good sleeper. I think the key to parenting is consistency and lots of love!
