Apparently the Smart Fortwo has been around for a few years, but I'd never seen one myself until recently.
Seeing it reminded me of a scene from one of my favorite Simpsons episodes, "22 Short Films About Springfield".

While those cars are so solid they don't really compress in an accident, there hasn't been a whole lot of talk about what happens to the occupants if/when a collision occurs. I also figure that, if they are hit, they will end up bouncing down the road like a ping-pong ball with a sunroof.
