I hope this trend doesn't catch on -- it can be regarded as "cute" by many moms, I guarantee you.
Just this morning I saw an ad in the paper about a Little Mr. & Ms. So and So contest being conducted by one of the biggest department store chains here. The photo of one of the kiddies was hideous -- a 7 or 9 year old girl striking a "stripper" pose, complete with long tresses and a really low neckline. Really bizarre. I suppose the kid's guardians may have found that "cute" thereby allowing such a picture of the little girl to be taken and published!
I pity such kids -- it's like no one is looking after their welfare. I know parents have different parenting styles, but please... =(
